Thank you so much for this outstanding lecture (German Art and Cinema between the Wars). The background knowledge of this time that you have and delivered was really great. It has been a wonderful evening.
Ann Marie, Arts Society Osnabruck, Germany, 2021
"I felt so excited when we finished; really enjoyed it. I thought your lecture was super. Almost as soon as we finished I had several emails saying how much they enjoyed the lecture"
Sally Kitching, South Gloucester Arts Appreciation Society, January 2021.
Thanks again for such a riveting (Zoom) lecture. We have had lots of very enthusiastic feedback.
MaryAnne Lockie - Tunbridge Wells Arts Society
John wears his deep understanding of Hitchcock's cinematic technique art lightly, and this made the lecture so enjoyable. The use of close analysis, frame by frame, of Hitchcock's most effective horror scenes showed us how Hitchcock built up tension so effectively. John's use of humour helped lighten the fear!
Kaye Bowerman - Chair, De La Frontera Arts Society, Spain, January 2020
...your lecture was brilliant last night. During your lecture I felt all the excitement of my film making days coming back and for that I thank you.
Chris James, Film maker, West Cornwall Arts Society, November 2019
It was a very successful evening, John. People commented that it was a great insight into Hitchcock's psyche and we can now look at his work again in a completely new way.
Grace Menabola, Programme Secretary - the Arts Society, Benahavis, Spain. October 2019

The only problem that I had with your talk John, was that it wasn't long enough. I did not want it to end.
South Gloucester Arts Society, - The Urge to buy and the art of advertising, June 2019
Many thanks for giving us such a wonderful talk. Our members were very enthusiastic afterwards.
Christine Thomas, Arts Society North Kent - Study morning on Hitchcock. May 2019
I only heard very positive feedback... and for me it was a triumph to steer away a little from Raphael, Leonardo, Rembrant et al. and look at great artists from a different perspective so I was very grateful to you for giving such a fine performance (Hitchcock Lecture).
Professor Chris Sutton, Arts Society, Woking April 2019
